Sports Remedial Massage

Contrary to popular belief, sports remedial massage is not just for sportsmen. It is designed to overall help performance and reduce pain and injury for anyone. ‘Remedial’ is a term that applies to approach rather than a set of specific techniques. It is a system of the examination and application of techniques to work with musculo-skeletal injuries and conditions. The goal is to work together with the patient to create the conditions that best help the body return to optimal health after some form of injury or pain.
Tequniques
Remedial techniques vary depending on the individual circumstance, but they will often include: Myofascial release, Trigger Point Therapy, Soft Tissue and Positional Release, Hot and/or Cold Therapy, Passive Movements and Joint Mobilizations, Stretching and Deep Tissue Massage.
Conditions
Conditions and pathologies that remedial massage aids include (but are not limited to): Achilles injuries and Scar Tissue, Tendonitis and Whiplash, Shin splints, Groin strain and Adhesions, Tennis elbow and Carpal Tunnel, Frozen shoulder and Hamstring injuries.
